El próximo domingo 19 de agosto será la primera edición de la cartelera “Prestige Fight Night” que incluye peleas de artes marciales mixtas, boxeo y Muay Thai, a partir de las cuatro de la tarde en Hard Rock Café Santo Domingo, organizadas por Mario Peguero.
El boxador alemán Matthias Ludwig, conocido como el panadero en el ambiente amateur, se enfrenta contra Gregorio "El Rey" Lebrón, en la categoría de 140 libras, la que supone una de las peleas más esperadas de la noche.
Matthias, que profesa la fe cristiana, es panadero de profesión y a sus cuarenta años ha logrado 105 victorias como boxeador y dice que el boxeo lo rescató de las calles cuando a los 12 años formaba parte de una pandilla que consumía drogas y delinquía, en la ciudad sureña Stuttgart, Alemania.
“Dios utilizó el boxeo para sacarme de las calles pues luego de ver la película Rocky 1, decidí someterme a la disciplina de este deporte para llegar a ser un campeón”, expresa el boxeador cristiano.
Ludwig agrega que ha sido muy bendecido, pues no solamente encontró camino en el deporte, sino también en el negocio de la panadería a lo que se dedica como primera profesión haciendo panes alemanes artesanales.
“Al mismo tiempo que practicaba el deporte, quise realizar estudios profesionales por si no transcendía en el boxeo, tener una profesión alternativa y es así como cursé la carrera de panadería que en Alemania dura 3 años.
Sobre su pelea del domingo en Hard Rock Café señala que está preparado para enfrentar a “El Rey” Lebrón, y propinarle los golpes que le permitan ser el ganador de la contienda que es a beneficio de la entidad Pro-Fight, ideada para rescatar niños de las calles.
“Queremos promover el trabajo de Pro Fight, que procura reclutar niños que al igual que yo, están perdidos en las drogas para enseñarles el valor de la disciplina, la dedicación y el deporte, por medio de las artes marciales mixtas”, expresa el peleador.
Matthias Ludwig ha sido campeón amateur en la categoría peso pluma en su natal Alemania y en 1994, fue campeón de la mismas categoría en Paraguay donde residía, antes de vivir en República Dominicana.
“No peleo para ser famoso, pues mi deseo es en el futuro sacar a los niños de las calles y ponerlos en un gimnasio para enseñarle dedicación y disciplina, como herramientas transformadoras de vida”, finaliza diciendo el boxeador.
La cartelera del domingo en Hard Rock Café, incluye cinco peleas profesionales de artes marciales mixtas, dos peleas amateur de la disciplina, dos peleas de boxeo a beneficio de ProFight y tres peleas amateur de Muay Thai.
La entrada general es de RD $500 pesos por persona, entrada Plus RD $1500, VIP RD $2500 y Special Guest RD $3,000
