Porfirio Rubirosa en el “RD Fashion Week”
Este domingo 02 de mayo a partir de las ocho de la noche, habrá un desfile de moda con 40 piezas en honor a Porfirio Ruborosa, a cargo de Arcadio Díaz, como parte de los atractivos del “República Dominicana Fashion Week” que tiene lugar en el puerto de Sans Souci.
Al mismo tiempo habrá un reconocimiento a los autores Martin e Isabell Wall escritores del libro “Persiguiendo a Rubirosa”, que trata la vida del playboy dominicano.
El motivo del desfile se debe a que Rubirosa fue reconocido en varias ocasiones como el hombre más elegante de los años 50.
“Porfirio fue el hombre mejor vestido según la revista Time Magazine, estableciendo el estilo del Playboy, Dandy, Latin Lover y Casanova Caribeño”, indicó la biógrafa Isabella Wall.
Wall también tuvo una participación en el Pabellón de Autores Dominicanos de la Xlll Feria Internacional del Libro donde llevó a cabo un conversatorio sobre el prestigioso diplomático dominicano.
“Rubirosa siempre fue un fashionista empedernido que inició el concepto del “figureo” en nuestro país, pues estaba consciente de que todos los ojos se enfocaban en él cuando hacia sus entradas triunfales donde quiera que llegaba”, agregó la escritora.
La línea del diseñador Arcadio Díaz, titulada "Chasing Rubi", esta inspirada en la biografía y estilo particular de Rubirosa en su época. El "RD Fashion Week" tiene lugar del 28 Abril al 3 de Mayo en Sans Sousi y se espera atraerá a VIPs y medios Dominicanos e Internacionales.
“Hoy por hoy Rubirosa continúa siendo el arquetipo que muchos hombres siguen, tanto por su filosofía, como amante, su estilo de vida y en su forma de vestir, agregó Isabella.
La más reciente biografía del Play Boy Dominicano Porfirio Ruborosa “Persiguiendo a Rubirosa” (Corripio 2009), escrita por Isabella y Martin Wall, está disponible en librería Cuesta, Supermercados Jumbo, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, y Miami Downtown Books.
