Como una manera de servir a la sociedad en el uso eficiente y sostenible de la energía, el agua y los recursos, Grupo Banas auspiciará la conferencia magistral del reconocido arquitecto español especialista en Arquitectura Sostenible Luis De Garrido “Impacto de la Construccion Sostenible en climas tropicales¨.
La actividad se llevará a cabo el próximo viernes 10 de septiembre en las instalaciones del auditorio del Centro de Exportación e Inversión de la República Dominicana, CEI-RD en horario de 4:00 a 9:00 PM.
El objetivo de esta conferencia es lograr una mayor exposición sobre el tema de la Arquitectura Bioclimática y Sustentable, y su rol como respuesta a la situación mundial económica y medio ambiental, así como su aplicación en climas tropicales.

Luis De Garrido ha realizado una incesante labor docente y divulgativa, impartiendo conferencias y seminarios en todo el mundo sobre: Arquitectura Sostenible, Arquitectura Industrializada y Modular, Arquitectura Bioclimática, Planeamiento Urbano Sostenible, Reciclaje Sostenible de la Ciudad, Arquitectura para la Felicidad, Edificios Inteligentes, Arquitectura Multimedia, Inteligencia Artificial, Eco-Diseño, Diseño Creativo, Diseño Publicitario, Alimentación, Longevidad, Salud del Hábitat y Sociología.
Ha recibido diversos galardones como son: premio Accesit en el concurso internacional de urbanismo y ordenación del territorio, premio Thirty Nine. Premiado en dos ocasiones (junto con otros 38 arquitectos) en el Concurso Internacional de Arquitectura "39" de la Universidad de California. Este concurso tenía como objetivo identificar, exponer y publicar los 39 mejores proyectos de los 39 mejores arquitectos del Mundo que tuviesen menos de 39 años. Además recibió el Premio Future Home otorgado por la prefectura de Tokio – Yokohama, concurso que tenía por objetivo proponer nuevas tipologías de vivienda sostenible en la era de la información, entre otros reconocimientos que avalan la profesionalidad y experiencia en el campo de la arquitectura sostenible del acreditado arquitecto.
El arquitecto Luis De Garrido, además ha publicado diversos libros tales como: Metodología de optimización de estructuras metálicas, y el desarrollo del software necesario. Alimentación sana para la longevidad y el mantenimiento. R4House: Reutiliza, Recupera, Recicla y Razona, Análisis de Proyectos de Arquitectura Sostenible. Naturalezas Artificiales entre otros ejemplares referentes a la arquitectura sostenible.
