Fue formado en Los Ángeles, USA en el año 2006 por Redfoo (Stefan Kendal Gordy Leiviska) quien nació el 3 de septiembre de 1975 y SkyBlu (Skyler Gordy), nacido el 23 de agosto de1986. Ambos comenzaron produciendo temas propios y justo antes de hacer su lanzamiento comercial, ya estaban haciendo sus remixes para estrellas del pop como Lady Gaga y BlackEyed Peas.
Lanzaron su primer single titulado "I'm in Miami Bitch” en diciembre de 2008 el cual alcanzó rápidamente el número 51 en la lista "Hot 100” de Billboard.
LMFAO es famoso por su estilo de mezclar Hip-Hop, Dance y unas letras que hablan de fiestas y alcohol con un toque humorístico. El grupo también ha logrado su fama por un estilo de baile popular en Australia y buena parte de Europa llamada "shuffle dance" o shufflin.
Su canción “Party Rock Anthem” ha sido catalogada a nivel mundial como uno de los más grandes hits de la última década.
Mynt Entertainment, quien es la más importante productora de eventos en la región norte informó que los precios de las boletas serán los más accesibles de todos los eventos realizados en el país, los cuales van desde general $500, preferencia $1,000 y Party Rock Área (Open bar) $1,500.
